We insist that to be called "green" on GreenLaCrosse.com, genuine evidence must be presented that a product or service is actually more environmentally responsible than the alternative. If you ever read something on this web site that you do not think deserves to be called green, please contact us with a correction submission.

Green, therefore, means many different specific things depending upon the subject matter. The important concept is that something can be green without being 100% perfectly sustainable.

Consider a fuel-efficient hybrid car - it may be considered green because it has amazing fuel efficiency, but it is not "absolutely, perfectly" green because it still burns gas and is made from plastics. We cannot realistically insist that everything in the Green Movement is "absolutely, perfectly" green. We invite everyone from every sector of society to participate by being as green as they can.

Being as green as you can does not mean that we all have an excuse to call ourselves green without backing up the claim. Being green means that we are making an effort to be as environmentally responsible as possible while avoiding any claims of a deceptive nature.
