Local Foods
are at the cornerstone of the Green Movement. Food production, distribution and storage consume an enormous amount of resources. In fact, the choices we make about our food have more of an impact on the environment than the choice of car we drive.

CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) farms provide weekly distributions of sustainably grown produce and much more to households who join for the season. You’ll experience a bounty of fresh seasonal vegetables and fruits while directly supporting sustainable agriculture and your local food system.

Download the local CSA listing (PDF Document)of the CSA’s available in the LaCrosse area. Each of these CSAs offers a variety of options in order to accommodate YOU, the consumer, with your (and your family’s) specific needs and requirements. Further information on each CSA can be found on their website or you can feel free call them with any questions.

Our goal at Green La Crosse
is to provide accurate information about the exciting relationship between food and the quality of our environment.

Many foods are quite literally green, but a great deal of work needs to be done to make our food supply safe and sustainable. Join us in an honest discussion of what food means to us and how it affects the world around us. Prepare to be surprised.

More Information About Food and the Environment:

The carbon dioxide emissions of the food industry far exceed the carbon dioxide emissions of the entire transportation sector...and that's just one way of measuring the impact of food. Fertilizers, pesticides, herbicides, plastic packaging. The list goes on forever.

Organic Food is the single fastest growing segment of the food industry (Source: 2007 OTA Manufacturer Survey) . The potential to change the world is enormous. It all starts with our food.
